Hydro power

Meridian owns and operates seven hydro stations in New Zealand.

Our hydro stations have a combined installed capacity of 2388 megawatts.

This is about the same amount of electricity as 1.4 million average New Zealand homes use in a year.

Wind power

Meridian has four wind farms in New Zealand, and the Brooklyn wind turbine in Wellington. We also have one wind farm in Australia and a small wind farm on Ross Island near Antarctica.

Our New Zealand wind farms have a combined installed capacity of 356 megawatts.

This is about the same amount of electricity as 179,000 average New Zealand homes use in a year.

Solar power

We helped build Maama Mai, Tonga's first solar farm, in alliance with Tonga Power and the governments of New Zealand and The Kingdom of Tonga.
