Damwatch – dam monitoring
Damwatch know dams inside and out – what they do and how they act. Damwatch use their expertise to monitor and maintain hydro assets worldwide. We invest in Damwatch as they provide dam monitoring and surveillance services that are instrumental to operating our dams. They also monitor dams for other New Zealand power generators.
Meridian Energy USA – solar power generation
Meridian Energy USA is a San Francisco-based company that develops technology to generate electricity from the sun. In April 2010, Meridian commissioned its first grid-scale, 5MW solar photovoltaic farm in Mendota, California, which supplies power to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Meridian has project opportunities in California and Colorado, and is bringing these to market.
The uptake of solar technology for electricity generation is happening quickly. Over 20GW of solar photovoltaic facilities have been installed worldwide. We believe expanding into utility-scale solar generation will keep Meridian on the innovative edge of clean technology.
Meridian Energy Australia – sustainable energy
Meridian Energy Australia focuses on developing energy projects that address Australia’s sustainability challenges. It has nearly 500MW of renewable energy projects in operation or under construction. Meridian Energy Australia seeks to create jobs in local economies where it operates, and to become a permanent, responsible neighbour in these communities.
