Get a career with energy! Meridian operates a two-year graduate programme to kick-start a career in the electricity industry.
Usually we’re looking for graduates with experience in:
- civil engineering
- electrical engineering
- mechanical engineering.

You can apply to join our graduate programme if you’re in your final year of study. When we are seeking applications there will be an advert listed on our careers page

Meridian’s graduate programme is a tried and tested three-year programme that aims to shape the talent of graduates by exposing them to a range of experiences in the electricity industry.
Opportunities exist each year for well-rounded graduates of mainly mechanical, electrical and civil engineering backgrounds. If you have an engineering degree, we would love to hear from you.

Where will I be?
Your rotations will be across most of our main sites:
- Wellington
- Christchurch
- Twizel
…and you may also find yourself working on-site at one of our world-class renewable assets.
