The $67 million refurbishment of the massive Benmore hydro power station on the Waitaki River has achieved an important milestone with the return to service of the fourth of the station’s six generators.
The Department of Conservation (DOC) and Meridian Energy have scooped first prize for environmentally responsible large organisation last night for their collaboration on Project River Recovery.
Meridian Energy today confirmed it has completed the process of selling two of its South Island hydro stations for $820,996,030. Meridian has sold Tekapo A and B power stations on the Waitaki Power Scheme to Genesis Energy.
