Summer 2012

The next series of Knowledge is Power energy-saving seminars are planned for Auckland in May and Wellington in June in 2012 following successful events in Auckland and Christchurch last year.

Free to all business customers, the seminars are run by Meridian’s Retail Business team and provide tips on how businesses such as yours can reduce power usage and ultimately save money.

Past speakers include Meridian specialists such as Mike Roan, Wholesale Markets Manager, who outlined how to better understand your power bills and what influences them. Sustainability Performance Advisor Alison Howard explained how sustainability can add value to your business and representatives from Philips Lighting and Enercon Energy and Utility Consultants gave presentations on the latest in energy-saving lighting and how to manage energy costs.

Seminar feedback has been very positive. Art Works Gallery owner/Manager Francine Bills, Manager/owner of Art Works Gallery, who attended the Christchurch seminar, says: “When I shop, I like to consider the origins and environmental impacts of the products as well as the price so I was very pleased to find that I can apply this same test to my choice of electricity supplier.”

Cameron Brooks, Newmarket Office Products Depot, says: “Very informative and a great investment of my time”. And JEL Enterprises’ Administration Manager Keri Borland says, “I would definitely come again and recommend it to others.”

Meridian Business Marketing and Product Manager Hamish McEwen is delighted by the positive response to the seminars, introduced as “part of our strategy to help business customers maximise their energy efficiency and understand the electricity market, such that they can make wiser energy decisions.”

The 2012 seminars will be held in Auckland in May and in Wellington in June. Register your interest early by visiting meridian.co.nz/knowledge.
