What is the difference between Time of Use (half hourly) and Non Time of Use (non half hourly) sites?
Time of Use (TOU) sites have a special meter installed at them that record electricity every half hour. Premises that have TOU meters installed typically use a great deal more electricity per year than Non Time of Use (NTOU) sites, and have more complicated price structures associated with them.

What does the invoice summary show me?
The invoice summary screen summarises the consumption and total cost information for all your TOU and NTOU invoices. The information is displayed in order of the billing period end date, so the most recent information is displayed at the top of the list. The information in the “Current Charges Total $” column shows the total amount of the invoice. These totals include GST for NTOU invoices and excludes GST for TOU invoices.

What are the icons on the invoice summary screen for?
There are five different coloured icons on the invoice summary screen. These allow you to quickly identify the different types of invoice information presented on this screen which includes information about your: Time of Use sites (TOU), Non Time of Use sites (NTOU), Statement Summary (for Non Time of Use sites), Unprinted bills and Reversed invoices. The legend that explains what each icon represents is at the top of the invoice summary page.

Why are some of my invoices coloured blue?
If you receive a Statement Summary then some of the information on the Invoice Summary page may be coloured blue. This information comes from unprinted invoices that are being held in our billing system until your statement summary is produced. When the statement summary for these invoices is created in our billing system the blue invoice summary lines will disappear and will be replaced by a total statement summary line.

How can I see my reversed invoices?
Reversed invoices will be displayed if the View Reversed Invoices button at the top of the Invoice Summary screen is ticked.

How can I see invoices for a particular period of time?
There are some buttons at the top of the invoice summary page that let you filter your invoices by date range. If the “enable date filtering” button is ticked and valid start and end dates are entered, then invoices between these periods of time are displayed.

How can I filter the Invoice Summary screen by invoice type?
You can use the “Bill Type” buttons in the box at the top of the invoice summary screen if you just want to see one type of invoice. If you just want to see your TOU invoices then click on the “Time of Use” button. If you just want to see your NTOU invoices then click on the “Non Time of Use” button. Information is displayed for all types of invoices if you click on the “Both” button.

What does the “GST Included” column mean?
The totals displayed in the “Current Charges Total $” column on the invoice summary screen exclude GST for TOU invoices and have “No” in the “GST Included” column. The totals displayed for NTOU invoices include GST and have “Yes” in the “GST Included” column.

How can I see a breakdown of the total charge?
There is a link beside each invoice in the invoice summary list called “View Details”. This link takes you to the Bill List screen which gives a more detailed breakdown of your invoice. For TOU bills, charges are split into total network charges, total energy charges and fees. NTOU bills are split into energy charges, fixed charges and other charges. Other charges include things like bonds and rebates etc.

How can I get a copy of my actual invoice for my TOU sites?
On the Invoice Summary screen there is a PDF button at the far right of each TOU invoice line. Click that button and a copy of the full invoice will be displayed. Note that you must have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to view these.

Can I see a copy of my actual invoice for my NTOU sites?
The next enhancement to Business Online will allow you to see a copy of your actual NTOU invoice before you receive it in the mail. This feature is coming very soon.

How can I find invoices for one of my sites?
You can display a list of invoices for one site by clicking on “Search by Site” on the menu. If you have a small number of sites you can select the site you are interested in by selecting from the list displayed. If you have a large number of sites, then another search screen is displayed where you can find a site using the site name or ICP number. Once the site you are interested in is displayed, a full list of invoices can be viewed by clicking on the “View Bill Details for Site” option.

Can I copy the information into Excel for analysis?
Yes. At the top of the list of invoices on the Invoice Summary screen there is an option called “Download CSV file”. If this option is selected a CSV file, containing a breakdown of charges for all invoices displayed, can be downloaded into Excel or a text file. There is also an option to send this file to anyone via email.
