Competition terms and conditions

Terms and conditions for the EMA (Employers Manufacturers Association) Win An Energy Audit competition.

  • This competition is only open to EMA members who have submitted an energy saving tip with a description of how successful it has been in their business.
  • The best four energy saving tips will be selected, with the overall best energy saving tip winning the Enercon Energy Audit, up to the value of $3000. The three runner-up energy saving tips will each win 12 month’s access to the Sustainable Business Network Get Sust online tool, which has a normal retail value of $295 (incl GST).
  • Each business can win one prize only, but can enter multiple energy saving tips on the same email.
  • All entries must be received by Meridian by 5pm Wednesday 31 August 2011. The four winning entries will be selected by the judges by Friday 9 September 2011. The four prize winners will be contacted by letter, phone and/or email within two weeks of the final judging date. If one or more prize winners are unable to be contacted within 21 days of the final judging date, Meridian reserves the right to award the relevant prize to another entry.
  • The prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Meridian reserves the right to publish all energy saving tips received and the prize winners’ names and photographs for publicity purposes.
  • When collecting personal information Meridian complies with the Privacy Act 1993.
  • Employees and contractors of Meridian and their immediate families, and employees of Meridian’s agencies are ineligible to enter.
  • Meridian reserves the right to amend the terms of, or cancel, this competition at any time.
  • Meridian, its employees and/or its agents will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which may be suffered as a result of winning this competition, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

  • One Smart-Trade winner, one GetGenuine™ winner and one Intelligent Rewards winner will be drawn at random from each of their respective draws and those winners will be given their choice of 50,000 Smart-Trade points/50,000 GetGenuine™ points/50,000 Intelligent Rewards points, or a $500 Meridian Energy electricity credit for their business. The rewards programme prize draw will be made before 3 November 2011. Each prize winner will be contacted by letter, phone and/or email within two weeks of the draw date. If a prize winner is unable to be contacted within 21 days of the respective rewards programme prize draw, Meridian reserves the right to redraw that prize draw.
  • Meridian reserves the right to re-draw the competition if an ineligible name is drawn.
  • The prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. A Smart-Trade/ GetGenuine™/Intelligent Rewards winner is only eligible for the $500 Meridian Energy electricity credit where they subsequently sign up as a Meridian business customer. In the event the winner elects not to sign up as a Meridian Energy business customer, they will only be eligible to receive the 50,000 Smart-trade/GetGenuine™/Intelligent Rewards points.   1. All Meridian Energy business customers as at 1 June 2011 will automatically receive one entry in the prize draw for every full month they have been a Meridian customer on their current account.
  2. One winner will be drawn at random and they will receive an energy audit up to the value of $3,000, including auditor’s travel fees if required.
  3. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  4. The winning entry will be drawn and the prize winner will be contacted by letter, phone and/or email within two weeks of 1 June 2011.
  5. Meridian Energy reserves the right to use the prize winner's names and photographs for publicity purposes.

Autumn 2011 Energise business customers’ green offers terms and condition

  1. These offers are only available to businesses that are purchasing electricity from Meridian Energy, at the time at which they take up these offers.
  2. Customers will be subject to the ecostore and Sustainable Business Networks terms and conditions for the purchase of these offers.
  3. New Meridian customers are subject to Meridian’s Standard Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity (PDF 209KB).
  4. Meridian reserves the right to amend or cease running these promotions at any time.
