We have a range of options to make it easy for you to pay your electricity bill. Choose the one that works for you.

Paying your bill

  • Direct debit

    Direct debit is the easiest way to pay your bill with the amount due deducted automatically from your bank account each month. It provides you with the reassurance and convenience of knowing your bill will always be paid on the due date, so you'll never miss out on your prompt payment discount.

    Call us on 0800 496 496 and we can arrange it over the phone; or download a direct debit form (PDF 133.94 KB). 

    Send your completed form to Freepost No. 126937, Meridian Energy, PO Box 2128, Christchurch.

  • Internet/phone banking

    You can pay your bill by phone or internet banking. 

    Get set up
    Please contact your bank direct to set up Meridian as a payee (they have our bank account information on hand).

  • By cheque

    Mail your cheque back to us in the reusable envelope we use to send your bill. When you send us your cheque, please make sure you include the tear-off section of your bill, so we can credit the right account. Fees may apply.

  • Paying in person

    You can pay your bill in person at any Westpac or New Zealand Post branch. Fees may apply.

  • Credit card

    Paying by credit card may be an option depending on which plan and/or package you’re on. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express (Amex). Fees may apply.
