Irrigation pricing and plans

Low summer pricing is one of the reasons most irrigating farmers around the country choose us. On top of that, our dedicated Agri Team will also help you focus on what's important and ensure you get the most out of your power. We’ve got your back.

Seasonal rates

If your irrigation season falls between September and April, let’s chat about our Seasonal Fixed Energy Plan. That gets you the lowest rates when you’re chewing through the most power. We reckon that’s a no-brainer.

Seasonal rates

This graph illustrates consumption and Meridian seasonal rates only. Your actual consumption and the rates charged to you will vary. The graph has been based on a single agribusiness customer's installation control point in the Waitaki region.

Day/Night pricing

Evaporation and transpiration add to the cost of irrigation. So if you’re making the most of night pumping hours, consider Day/Night pricing too, as a way to reduce your costs even further.

If your pumps are running round the clock, Anytime pricing’s best for you.

Time of Use

And if you’ve got a large irrigation system, we can look at Time of Use pricing which can offer some advantages in terms of scale and flexibility.

Don't just take our word for it

“We’re yet to come across another power company with dedicated agri managers that will understand your business as well as Meridian does. It’s not all about price, it’s about relationships too. And Meridian is a hands down winner on both.”

- Michelle and Leighton Pye, South Canterbury farmers
