Meridian Energy has been named as a finalist in the Large Workplace category of the 2016 IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Programme, based on New Zealand’s largest and longest running study of workplace climate and employee engagement. The Best Workplaces survey identifies the best places to work in New Zealand, as rated by employees.
Over 36,000 employees from 210 organisations, across both private and public sectors, participated in the survey in 2016, providing their perceptions of their workplace on areas such as leadership, development opportunities, involvement, recognition and more.
This year, 50 organisations have reached finalist status across five categories; Small, Small-Medium, Medium-Large, Large and Enterprise.
“Achieving finalist status in the IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Programme is one of the most reliable indicators of a great workplace because it’s based on the voice of the employee,” says Emma Martin, Senior Consultant, IBM Kenexa New Zealand. “It’s an accolade that clearly distinguishes New Zealand’s top ‘employers of choice’.”
“We’re really proud to have been chosen as a finalist in the Large Workplace category,” says Jacqui Cleland, GM Human Resources. “This is a great recognition of our focus on engagement and it reflects the hard work and dedication from people across the business who have wanted to make Meridian a better place to work.”
The winners of the 2016 IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Awards will be announced at a black tie dinner in Auckland on 3 November.
The programme is proudly supported by AUT Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, the Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) and Kiwibank.
