Meridian Energy is creating jobs in regional New Zealand with the establishment of a small new call centre in Twizel.
The new team will service Meridian customers across New Zealand alongside the company’s Christchurch based Energy Centre which employs approximately 65 people.
Meridian Energy Centre Manager Rowena Fulham says the introduction of new technology, including a new telephony platform, means the Twizel team will be able to operate remotely in a virtual sense and integrate seamlessly with the team in Christchurch.
“We’re delighted to be able to bring new jobs to the Twizel community, which is a community at the heart of our business. We know that by creating these jobs we’re adding to the resiliency of the local economy,” says Ms Fulham.
“The establishment of the new call centre will diversify the existing roles based in Twizel, which include engineering, ICT, community engagement and corporate safety and health.”
Recruitment started this week with approximately four Customer Consultant roles up for offer.
“We’re looking to establish a small team with a good mix of people who are passionate and hard working.”
“They’ll be joining an award winning team, with our Energy Centre winning gold at the 2016 CRM Consulting Contact Centre Awards,” says Ms Fulham.
It’s expected the new call centre will be operational from late February. The roles will be based in Meridian’s new Twizel office, which was opened in June 2016.
