Meridian Energy Limited generates electricity from New Zealand’s renewable resources. We develop future power generation and retail electricity.
We also develop renewable energy offshore, and innovative energy products and services in New Zealand.
Meridian is a state-owned enterprise.
The Meridian Group has offices in Wellington, Christchurch, Twizel, Auckland, San Francisco and Melbourne.
What we do
We retail electricity to residential, rural and business customers through our Meridian and Powershop brands.
We generate electricity from wind and water in New Zealand, wind in Australia, and solar energy in the United States of America.
We are New Zealand’s largest electricity generator. We own and operate seven hydro stations (six within the Waitaki hydro scheme), and four wind farms across New Zealand.
