Meridian Energy has appointed Megan Matthews as its first “Future Director” as an observer to the Board.
Megan has held various roles within high profile New Zealand companies with a broad management background across marketing, finance and human resources. She has also been an associate director on various Ngāi Tahu subsidiaries as part of the Iwi’s Manawa Nui programme.
Meridian’s CEO, Mark Binns said the Board was delighted to find someone for the position with such relevant skills and a close association with Ngāi Tahu one of the company’s critical stakeholders.
Administered by the Institute of Directors, the Future Directors initiative is designed to develop the next generation of directors by giving candidates exposure to a public company board for a year.
