Rural supplier offers

If you're with one of these rural suppliers, you're eligible for benefits and discounts when you choose to bill through them. It also makes paying your power bill easier. Click through to see the benefits of each.

Each month, the amount billed by Meridian within that billing period is charged to your rural supplier and will be itemised on your statement from them. You’ll still receive your regular bill from Meridian for your records. The rural supplier will pay the full amount billed for each billing period, and then you will pay them. 

You will need to contact us to set up or remove rural supplier billing.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Initial setup: Can only be set up when your account balance is $0. Any owed amount or credit balance must be cleared before we can set this up.
• Statement date: This is set depending on your chosen rural supplier and can’t be changed. 
• Due date: Due according to your service agreement with your rural supplier. Their billing should outline your due date. Ignore the due date on our billing; your rural supplier will pay us. 
• Early or partial payments: You cannot make early or partial payments directly to Meridian. All payments must go through your rural supplier, unless specifically requested by Meridian. Any payment you make to us directly will not be considered when we request payment from your rural supplier. 
• Payment terms and extensions: These need to be arranged directly with your rural supplier. Meridian generally won’t be involved unless there are exceptional circumstances. Your rural supplier is responsible for paying Meridian and assumes any credit risk.
• Farm Source: An authorisation process must be completed before they’ll accept charges on your behalf. Meridian will walk you through this process when you set up payment via Farm Source. If the authorisation isn’t completed, Farm Source will reject the charges. In that case, you’ll need to pay Meridian directly and will be subject to our standard credit criteria.
