This document sets out all of the join offers for Meridian Energy Limited (trading as Meridian)'s (we, our, us, or Meridian) customers, and any Special Terms that apply to those join offers. Meridian reserves the right to cease offering certain join offers to new customers at any time, without notice.
The Special Terms below are to be read together with Meridian's Standard Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity (Standard Terms), your Plan Terms, your relevant Plan Eligibility Criteria, any Add On Eligibility Criteria and any other Special Terms notified to you. If there are any inconsistencies between documents, the order of priority set out in clause 1.2 of the Standard Terms will apply.
These Special Terms may be changed in accordance with clause 22.6 of the Standard Terms.
All bolded terms have the meaning given to them in Meridian's Standard Terms.
When collecting, using and disclosing personal information, Meridian complies with the Privacy Act 2020. Our privacy terms are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Welcome Offer Special Terms

A list of Meridian's current "Welcome Offers" for each "Eligible Plan" is available at https://www.meridianenergy.co.nz/terms-and-conditions/list-of-plans-and-offers. The list of Welcome Offers and Eligible Plans is subject to change at Meridian's discretion.

You may be eligible for a Welcome Offer when you join Meridian on an Eligible Plan.

In order to be eligible for a Welcome Offer, you and your premises must meet the following criteria:
- (a) your premises must be classified as a residential consumer, as listed on the national electricity registry;
- (b) you must be accepted by Meridian as a customer under the relevant Eligible Plan; and
- (c) you must be a new customer to Meridian, meaning you must not have been a customer of Meridian in the 12 months prior to requesting this offer; and
- (d) you must not have received any welcome/join credit or other welcome/join incentive from Meridian in the 12 months prior to requesting this offer.

If a Termination Fee applies to your selected Welcome Offer (see https://www.meridianenergy.co.nz/terms-and-conditions/list-of-plans-and-offers) and your premises is switched to another electricity retailer, your agreement with us ends (other than where we are at fault or as set out in clauses 8.11 or 22.6 of the Standard Terms), or you move from your Eligible Plan to another Meridian plan before the end of the applicable Termination Fee period, we may charge your final bill with the applicable Termination Fee amount (see https://www.meridianenergy.co.nz/terms-and-conditions/list-of-plans-and-offers). The Termination Fee for a premises will never exceed the total amount of the credit you received for that premises.

If your Eligible Plan ends before you have received the entire Welcome Offer, then you forfeit and will not receive the balance of the Welcome Offer (if any).

Discretionary Credit Offer Special Terms

These discretionary credit offer Special Terms apply if Meridian, in its sole discretion, has offered you an incentive credit ("credit") for your premises.

The credit may be offered on a premises basis. If you have more than one premises on your account, you may qualify for more than one credit.

If your plan ends before you have received the entire credit, then you forfeit and will not receive the balance of the credit (if any).
If the premises for which you received a credit is switched to another electricity retailer or your agreement with us ends before the date specified in your offer documents (other than where we are at fault or as set out in clauses 8.11 or 22.6 of the Standard Terms) then Meridian may charge you a Termination Fee in respect of the credit you received for the premises, as set out in your offer documents.

Mooving Farm Offer Special Terms
- A list of Meridian's "Eligible Plans" for this offer is available at https://www.meridianenergy.co.nz/terms-and-conditions/list-of-plans-and-offers.
- You may be eligible to receive a Meridian account credit for your ICP when the ICP signs up to a Meridian Eligible Plan. The account credit will be between $100 and $300 as determined by Meridian in our sole discretion, based on the type of ICP (for example, electric fence, dairy shed). If you are signing up more than one ICP to your account, you may qualify for more than one credit.
- To be eligible for this offer, you and your ICP must meet the following criteria:
- (a) you must be a dairy farmer;
- (b) your ICP must sign up to a new Meridian Eligible Plan between 1 April 2026 and 30 June 2026 (Promotional Period);
- (c) your ICP must be accepted by Meridian on an Eligible Plan; and
- (d) if you are a new customer, you must be accepted by Meridian as a customer.
- If you receive a credit for a particular ICP and leave the plan for that ICP before:
- (a) In the case of a Fixed Plan: the expiry date of the plan, or
- (b) In the case of an Open Plan: within the first 12 months
(each a recovery period), then Meridian may charge your final bill with a Termination Fee. Meridian will calculate the Termination Fee by pro-rating the amount of credit you received, based on how much time there is remaining until the end of the relevant recovery period. The Termination Fee for an ICP will never exceed the total amount of the credit you received for that ICP.
