Mt Mercer is a 64-turbine wind farm near Ballarat in Victoria, Australia.

Mt Mercer is the second wind farm Meridian has constructed in Victoria and will make a substantial contribution to Australian retailers meeting their commitments under the Australian Renewable Energy Target scheme.

Building Mt Mercer

Work on Mt Mercer started in December 2012 and was completed in December 2014. It was developed by Meridian Energy Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meridian Energy Ltd. Construction partners were: REpower Systems SE for wind turbines and Downer EDI for civil works.

The wind farm is connected to the Victorian Electricity Grid by a new powerline and green field terminal station near the town of Elaine. This connection is built, owned and operated by Transmission Operations (Australia) (Powercor/Citipower).

First power was generated to the grid mid-November 2013.
