We’re committed to providing farmers with choice as well as helping you save energy and money.
We understand that each farm is different and we’ve got a range of pricing options to suit your needs.
There are two types of pricing, Fixed or Variable. Choose a fixed rate plan if you want some certainty to help you budget, or variable pricing if you don’t want to be tied into a contract.
Year round or seasonal rates
Depending on when you use electricity you can choose between year-round or seasonal rates for your farm.
- Seasonal rates may suit summer milking dairy farmers, irrigators and some horticulturalists.
- Year-round rates might be better for sheep and beef farmers.
Our fixed seasonal rates give you lower summer rates from 1 September to 30 April.
This graph illustrates consumption and Meridian seasonal rates only. Your actual consumption and the rates charged to you will vary. The graph has been based on a single agribusiness customer's installation control point in the Waitaki region.
Day/night or anytime rates
You can decide if you want rates that vary within a day, such as a DayNight rate that has lower night rates.
- DayNight rates often suit irrigators and early morning milkers.
- An Anytime rate may be better for sheep and beef farmers.
